After a ten-year journey and victory over the demon king, the company of heroes returns to their homeland to part ways forever. The elf Friren bitterly watches as her companions fall one after another, for elves live longer than humans. She decides to embark on a new journey to find the answers to the questions that torment her about the meaning of life.
