Having returned from feudal Japan in its own time, Batman discovers that the world has changed — the Justice League does not exist, and Japan unleashes a rain of Yakuza on Gotham. Together with Robin, the Dark Knight sets off for a raiding island, where he encounters versions of his former allies who fight on the side of the Yakuza clans, and the most dangerous of them — Kuraku, the Man of Steel.
