Having wasted eight of his nine lives and, terrified to death by the approaching wolf-hunter, Puss in Boots heeds a doctor's advice and moves into the home of a local cat-woman. There he submits to the established order, grows a beard, and loses his taste for feats and adventures, but only until he learns of a magical map that shows the way to a fallen Wish Star somewhere. Puss in Boots resolves to find the Star to restore his lives, and, accompanied by a dog who pretends to be a cat, sets out to steal the map from the famous collector of magical items, Jack Horner.
