Physical education teacher Sergio Rossetti, trying to forget the past and start a new life, moves to the small village of Remis, whose inhabitants prove to be unusually calm people. The teacher meets the young owner of the local hotel, Mikela. Noticing his sadness, the girl tells Sergio that in the village every week at night a ritual takes place. To free themselves from their own pain and worries, the villagers gather and embrace the teenager Matteo, whom they call the Angel of Remis.
