Pete Mitchell, nicknamed Maverick, has been one of the Navy's best pilots for over 30 years. The fearless test pilot pushes the boundaries of what's possible and painstakingly avoids a promotion that would force him to retire from flying. But his willingness to take risks is not welcomed by the command. After yet another incident, Mitchell is sent back to Top Gun, this time as an instructor. He must train a team of Top Gun graduates for a highly challenging and deadly mission. Among the candidates, Maverick meets Bradley Bradshaw, the son of his late friend and comrade Nick Bradshaw, nicknamed Goose.
