Captain Jeff, a police captain, is divorcing his wife and, with effort, maintains a relationship with his daughter Stella because he is constantly at work. On Stella's birthday, the police officer again has to choose work over family. The operation to arrest drug traffickers does not go as planned, and Jeff is wounded during a chase that leads to the zoo. Emerging from a coma after a difficult operation, Jeff discovers an incredible gift: now he understands the language of animals. Fearing that he will be thought crazy, Jeff keeps his ability secret and begins using it in solving crimes and in his personal life.
