Hamburg, spring 1941. The 16-year-old Helmuth Huebener—the youngest employee of the local administration. The boy has a lively mind and a fine way with words, for which he is valued at work. He begins to listen to Allied broadcasts on a trophy radio brought home by his older brother. When his Jewish wife is taken away by the Gestapo, Helmuth decides, to the best of his abilities, to oppose Nazi propaganda—printing leaflets and distributing them around the city.
