When it becomes known that within 300 years the Sun will go dark, the Unified Earth Government considers two options for overcoming the crisis: the digitization of consciousness using quantum computers of the 550i series, which would result in eternal life; and the project "Shagayushchaya gora" — an installation of giant engines around the world, with the help of which Earth could be sent in search of a new home. Both options have opponents, and in 2044 an attack is launched on the space elevator and the pilot training center.
