Patrick Jane is a detective and an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He uses his razor-sharp observation skills to solve serious crimes. Within the Bureau, Jane is known for frequent protocol violations, as well as for his star-studded past: he once worked as a medium, but now he himself admits that he simulated paranormal abilities.
