There are four nations in the world corresponding to the four elements: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. A representative of the Fire Nation has decided to subjugate the other nations. The responsibility to save the world and end the war rests solely on the Avatar, who wields all four elements. The burden suddenly falls on the shoulders of twelve-year-old Aang, who must embark on a dangerous journey.
