A retired man runs a guesthouse in the forest. After the departure of a guest—a young, beautiful woman with a silver ornament—he begins to suspect that she committed a terrible crime, but decides not to report it to the police. About twenty years ago, in this area, a married couple ran a hotel with a view of the lake. One of the guests turned out to be a wanted serial killer, who brutally disposed of another victim right in a hotel room.
