The series is based on real events that occurred in Melbourne, Australia, between 1995 and 2004. It is the story of gangland showdowns between rival factions of Melbourne's criminal underworld. At the core is a brutal war between two gangs and an even more serious moral war between the gangs and the Purana Task Force, against which unfolds a complex web of personal histories and relationships - sometimes moving, sometimes astonishing, and always gripping.
