Young Victoria McQueen discovers within herself a unique ability to open a portal to the world of lost things. Diving deeper into this universe hidden from human eyes, she encounters many other travelers like herself, some of whom prove to be quite benevolent, while others are hopelessly corrupted by their gift. One day Victoria meets Charlie Manks: learning that he feeds on children's souls and remains immortal thanks to them, the heroine decides to rid the world of this creature.
