In the center of the series is the experienced investigator Katrin Ris Jensen, who for many years has led investigations into serious crimes in the capital of Denmark. In childhood she endured violence at the hands of her stepfather, and she hunts down rapists, maniacs, and murderers, sacrificing herself and her personal life. In her investigations she is aided by Stig Molbek, who is aiming for Katrin Ris Jensen's position, and by psychologist Thomas Sheffer, who also has dark chapters in his past. More than once he will make a risky decision that could lead to serious consequences.
