Visiting a genetic laboratory triggers the most dramatic changes in Josh McGrett's life. As a result of exposure to a liquid named 'Max Proba' that drenched him, and then to transphasic energy, Josh McGrett, as he was known, ceases to exist. Instead, a new person appears who possesses the ability to become invisible. The name of this new person is Max Stil, and from that day on he begins working for a secret organization whose mission includes carrying out various covert operations.
