Earthsea in danger, a world of magic on the brink of disappearance. The Archmage Ged sets out in search of the root cause of the trouble. On the way he meets Arren, prince of Enlad, who after the murder of his father flees his homeland, pursued by a shadow. Arriving in the capital of Earthsea, Hort-Town, the travelers find shelter in the home of the White Lady, former priestess-guardian of the Dark Tombs of Atuan. Here Ged reveals to Arren the secrets of life and death, truth and lies. Calling to serve the truth with complete self-sacrifice, he seems to pass the baton to a bold youth, destined for a special mission in this world.
