The Future. After a nuclear war, Earth was struck by a terrible environmental catastrophe. The surface of the planet is almost entirely covered by forests that release poisonous plant spores into the atmosphere. The remaining living humans live in zones not yet covered by forests, and periodically encounter monstrous insect-like monsters. The Valley of the Wind is one of the kingdoms formed in the ruins of former nations. It is ruled by the fearless princess Nausicaa. The peaceful existence of the Valley of the Wind is disrupted when a small nation clashes with its aggressive neighbors, who seek to recreate a dangerous weapon capable of utterly destroying the planet.
