The Shang Dynasty, 1000 BCE. Having assumed the disguise of the emperor's concubine, a treacherous nine-tailed demon-fox seized power, but after a long war she was defeated. A brave warrior, Jiang Ziya, ascended the celestial ladder to kill the fox and obtain immortality, but she showed him a girl who would die together with her. He could not destroy the innocent one, and everyone decided that Jiang had fallen under the demon's charm. Ten years later, a warrior deprived of part of his powers encounters the most enigmatic girl. Her name is Xiao Jiu; he remembers nothing of his past, and in addition she herself resembles a demon-fox.
