The care of six-year-old Lilo Pelekai fell to her older sister Nani. Nani has to work a lot, and therefore the girl is often left alone. One day a neighbor suggests adopting a dog from a shelter to help the girl cope with loneliness. However, Lilo brings home a cute alien from the shelter instead of a dog. The girl gives the new pet the name Stitch, and on his home planet they called him Experiment 626. He is a fugitive from the Galactic Police and a product of genetic experiments, characterized by a tendency toward destruction, the ability to learn quickly, and nearly complete invulnerability.
