Edgin Darvis, a bard and adventurer, together with his battle partner Holga, escapes from prison and sets out to visit his daughter, whom his former partner Forge had been looking after for the past few years. Upon their arrival it turns out that, with the support of the suspicious sorceress Sofina, not only has he become fabulously rich and even a governor, but he has also turned his daughter against her father, and in general is not opposed to getting rid of Edgin and Holga. Having managed to fend off the executioners, the desperate pair plans a terrible revenge, and for this they will have to join forces with the scatterbrained mage Simon, the nimble druid Dorik, and search for the supposedly lost magical helmet.
