One day the Menshov family witnesses an accident on the highway. The man saved from the jaws of death turns out to be the influential security official Rodin, and a mutually beneficial friendship unexpectedly develops between the two men. It's not for nothing that people say, "beware of a friend as you would a foe," and soon this friendship turns the Menshov family's life into hell.
