The United States after the Civil War. A legendary bounty hunter named John Ruth, nicknamed the Hangman, escorts a prisoner. Joining them are a few more travelers. A snowstorm forces the group to seek shelter in a little shop on the edge of nowhere, where a rather colorful assortment has already gathered: a Confederate general, a Mexican, a cowboy… And one of them is not who he pretends to be.
