Ross Holliday, a successful quarterback, makes a glaring mistake in the championship final that costs his college team's victory. Moreover, Ross hits a fan during a live television broadcast, which finally destroys his athletic career. One day, Ross learns about tryouts for a football team at one of the universities in southern Georgia and decides to return to the sport. He steals his father's prosthetics and wig, his father being a Hollywood makeup artist, and transforms into Chad Powers, a talented and shy football player.
