David Budd, a war veteran and a bodyguard who provides security for members of the royal family and the UK government. He is entrusted with the protection of Home Secretary Julia Montague. Budd finds himself in a difficult position, as his beliefs are radically different from those of the person he is supposed to protect. Moreover, given his past military trauma, he could turn from a bodyguard into the main threat.
