March 1945, Kyonson. A wealthy owner of an antique shop and a Lombard pawnshop, Chan Tae-san, finds himself in a difficult situation. A local commissioner forces him to locate his missing lover before the cherry blossoms fall, or else he threatens to seize all his wealth and send him to the front. At the same time, professional investigators—father and daughter—arrive in the city, having spent more than ten years searching for their wife and mother. Chan Tae-san hires them, and their search leads to a military hospital, where the Japanese secretly conduct horrific experiments on people.
