German Shepherd Rex works as a full-time officer for the Vienna Criminal Police in the Homicide Investigation Department. His keen nose, courage, and loyalty to fellow officers have made him a formidable scourge of Austria's criminal underworld. Where the pursuit requires speed, where one must get close to an armed criminal brandishing a pistol, or take a blow to shield his human partner, Rex is indispensable. But like any police officer, off duty Rex indulges in small everyday weaknesses, but only on his own doggy terms. He chases after a ball, leaves his owner without lunch, promptly seizes a tasty morsel, and then, innocently wagging his tail, looks away.
