The lives of Lena and Nils, ordinary German teenagers and siblings, are turned upside down. Their mother Doris announces that she plans to move in with her beloved — a fearless police officer named Metin. Metin is a German of Turkish descent who also raises two children on his own — a son Cem and a daughter Yagmur. Yagmur strictly observes all Muslim traditions — prays five times a day, wears a hijab, and does not socialize with men, while Cem regards himself as a true hot Turkish macho. Lena and Nils are shocked, for these people are their new family! Problems in this family begin immediately: Cem and Yagmur chide Lena for her love of revealing outfits and her interest in boys. The newly minted “brother” schemes against her and her boyfriend Axel; they, in turn, try to sort out the private life of the hapless macho Cem. All the while, chaste Yagmur watches all of this.
