Anna Andrews, a television journalist from Atlanta, returns to the field after a year of absence. During this time, Anna loses her job as the lead anchor of the news program, and in order to get her job back, she is assigned to cover a murder in her hometown of Dalonege. In her hometown, she again encounters her estranged husband, Detective Jack Harper, who has moved from Atlanta and is tasked with investigating the murder. The spouses regard each other with suspicion and compete in the investigation of the case.
