Liz, the daughter of deported immigrants, returns to her hometown of Roswell, New Mexico. Upon her return, she encounters her high school sweetheart Max, who now works for the local police department. Liz gets a job and soon becomes a victim of an armed assault. To save her life, Max discovers his supernatural abilities. It turns out that he is a descendant of aliens whose ship crashed in the town many years ago. Moreover, he is not the only one in Roswell, and as it turns out, there are many beings like him across the country.
