The main character is Dr. Gretchen Haze, who causes a stir not only in the operating room but also in the hearts of her colleagues. After the collapse of her personal life, Gretchen returns to her parents' house, where her father is a professor of surgery and her mother is a know-it-all super-mom. Gretchen's goal is to finally focus on her career and forget about men. She is charming and unprejudiced, and she handles professional challenges superbly, but her personal life soon spirals into chaos. The new chief physician, Dr. Mark Meier, is not only the department's top macho but also Gretchen's former high school sweetheart. Or perhaps the good-natured gynecologist Dr. Mehdi Kaan has more chances? Gretchen Haze does not claim to be a paragon of virtue; she is an ordinary woman who not only contemplates her career but also listens to her heart. Yet her heart does not always beat in rhythm. Finally, we have proof that doctors are human too. They can lie, fall in love, and suffer. And for weight issues as well as lovesickness, a cure remains elusive. Dear users!
