Kat Chamber, a former thief, returns to her hometown Rif, located on an idyllic island in the Pacific Ocean. Thanks to her criminal past, she easily identifies criminals and constantly finds herself at the center of various illicit happenings, and thus becomes a police consultant. Participating in investigations, Kat meets old friends, enemies, and lovers, including her ex-husband, an FBI agent, a former boss who is currently serving time in prison, and a charming police detective.
