Sun-mi had a happy childhood; she grew up surrounded by her father's love and care. The Yun-mi family, on the other hand, was not well-off. When she was still very young, her mother abandoned her to her alcoholic father, who soon died, and as a result the girl faced a great deal of suffering and disappointment.
