A comedy about two girls who work as waitresses in a diner and are united by a shared dream – to open a successful business. Of course, as soon as they can find the money for it. Max, sharp and world-weary, works two jobs just to make ends meet. One of these jobs is the night shift at the Williamsburg retro diner. The refined Caroline is a former princess with a trust fund, who was so unlucky that she ended up becoming a waitress. At first Max sees Caroline as just another ditz that Max will have to cover for, but to her surprise, Caroline isn’t a pushover. When Caroline learns that Max bakes amazing cupcakes, she immediately sees it as a potential source of profit, but money is needed for the business. And while the girls save tips, they will have to work at the diner alongside Oleg, an overly amorous cook; Earl, a 75-year-old tough guy who works at the register; and Han Li, the new owner of the diner. Two broke girls live in an expensive city, work together, and perhaps have found the secret ingredient to success.
