In 1969, in a Mexican province, a brave and determined boy named Aurelio lives in a peasant family that works on the land of the influential Don Cleto, who traffics drugs into the United States. The schoolboy tries to impress a new girl in his class, hoping to pull his mother out of poverty, so he asks Don Cleto to make him one of the drug couriers.
