France, 1627. A young Gascon named D'Artagnan sets out for Paris to become a musketeer, but on the way he gets into trouble and miraculously escapes alive. Upon arriving in the capital, the lad manages to pick a quarrel with and provoke a duel among the three famous musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. But suddenly D'Artagnan forges a strong friendship with them, receives the king's gratitude, and later finds himself at the epicenter of a palace plot against the queen.
