Using cunning and deft skill, she obtains the priceless map of the headwaters of the Amazon, and the nimble archaeologist Lili Houton sets out on an expedition to find a magical tree, the flower of which—according to legend—possesses incredible healing properties. Taking along her younger brother, who is not thrilled about the prospect of a journey into the wild jungles, the girl hires a guide-captain of a cruise steamer named Frank. The entire party sets off on an adventure, where they face not only deadly representatives of the Amazon’s flora and fauna, but also traps laid by members of a rival expedition.
