In the center of the action is a young surgeon, Meredith Grey, daughter of the famous doctor Ellis Grey. She, like her colleagues, is a junior doctor working at Seattle's city hospital. Surgeons operate and fall in love, document case histories and workplace romances, guard their professional secrets, and grapple with complications in patients and in their own personal lives. And often relationships with the opposite sex occupy them no less than the pursuit of professional experience.
