The series follows a team of doctors who must correctly diagnose a patient and save him. It is led by Dr. Gregory House, who walks with a cane after his muscle infarction in the right leg was diagnosed too late. As a doctor, House is simply a genius, but he is not known for empathy in his interactions with patients and he willingly avoids them whenever possible. He spends all his time fighting his own pain, and the cane in his hand only underscores his harsh, caustic manner of speaking. At times his behavior can be described as almost inhumane, yet he is a brilliant doctor with an unconventional mind and a flawless instinct that has earned him deep respect. Being an infectious disease specialist, he is also an excellent diagnostician who loves solving medical puzzles to save someone's life. If everything were up to him, House would treat patients without leaving his office.
