Dr. Megan Hunt was a leading neurosurgeon until a car accident cut her career short. And now, since she can no longer help people while alive, she has become a medical examiner. And although she performs her job flawlessly, the reputation of being a “difficult person” follows her everywhere. Her boss tries to defend her, but she too often steps on a sore spot. And although he, grumbling, still acknowledges her medical abilities, her colleague, veteran police detective Bad Morris, is not at all impressed with Megan’s methods. Fortunately, Doctor Hunt still has a few admirers. Junior forensic examiners rely on her expertise, and her partner, medical investigator Peter Dunlop, takes her odd behavior in stride. Maybe it’s because he’s the only one who knows that Hunt’s difficult personality is partly caused by guilt. Before leaving neurosurgery, Megan accidentally killed her patient. Add to this a bitter divorce, which left her teenage daughter in the care of her father, and you have a recipe for loneliness. As for understanding the dead, Doctor Hunt has no equal. But when it comes to dealing with the living, she has a lot to learn. Dear users! To avoid losing us, please bookmark this address: CTRL+D
