After an operation that results in serious facial injuries, Captain Noemi Shasten of the Paris Police is transferred to compulsory rehabilitation at a police station in a small town in Occitania. However, Noemi unexpectedly becomes involved in a case from twenty years ago, when a barrel containing the skeleton of a child rises to the surface from the bottom of an artificial lake, where an old sunken village lies.
