The life of American Susie, who lives in Japan, is turned upside down when her husband disappears in a mysterious plane crash. As a consolation, her husband’s tech company gives her a next-generation home robot named Sunny. At first Susie resists Sunny’s attempts to fill the emptiness of her life, but gradually a friendship develops between them. They set out to uncover the truth about what really happened to Susie’s family.
