Janos Hunyadi fought not only the relentlessly expanding Ottoman Empire, but also enemies within his own country. The victory at the siege of Nándorfehérvár (now Belgrade) became legendary. Against seemingly insurmountable odds, Hunyadi defeated the Ottoman army and thereby forever changed the history of Europe.
