Kadi John travels to northern Wales to visit her father and help him get through a difficult period in his life. He is ill, so her help is absolutely essential. Kadi has to leave her job as an inspector before she departs, but another case comes up and finds her anyway. Near the enclosure where Kadi's father lives, a murder has been committed. The body of an unidentified young woman is found near the local river. Kadi decides to investigate.
