The greatest illusionist of his century, Harry Houdini, and no less a great detective writer, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, having attained wealth and the heights of popularity, decide to become colleagues in a new craft. Both are interested in solving crimes in which supernatural motives are involved. This is in spite of the fact that Doyle devoutly believes in mysticism, while Houdini categorically denies it.
