Marla lives by the principle “the strongest wins.” The woman has built a thriving business: using the right people, bribery, and tricks of the law, she gains guardianship over vulnerable elderly people, places the poor souls in nursing homes, and sells their assets. Her new victim, the elderly Jennifer Peterson, seems a tasty morsel—she has no relatives, but she has decent savings, a house, and early signs of dementia.
