1996. Former athlete Jimmy Kinsel was sentenced to 10 years for drug trafficking, although the prosecutor had promised him the minimum term. After seven months behind bars, he gets an offer from the FBI: in exchange for his freedom, he must transfer to a maximum-security prison, ingratiate himself with Larry Hall — a suspect in the serial murders of women — and find out where he buried one of the victims. He must do this as quickly as possible, because in a month Larry could be released. But if Jimmy fails to secure a confession, he will stay in that prison to finish his term, and, in addition, other inmates may suspect him of playing both sides.
